Overseas Challenges:

Trek the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, departing on 30 April 2011

From high remote mountain trails to the first sight of Machu Picchu, the legendary Lost City of the Incas, this is a challenging trek on steep trails climbing to 4200m in fantastic and diverse mountainous country.

There is plenty of time built in to acclimatise to the altitude - enjoy exploring ancient Cusco, capital of the Inca Empire, and the surrounding Sacred Valley. The trek then takes us through lush cloud forest, green valleys and high passes with breathtaking views of snow-capped Andean peaks, with time to stop and explore fascinating Inca temples and settlements along the way. Sahara Desert Trek in Morocco, departing 4 March 2011

The Sahara desert stretches from the snow capped High Atlas mountains of Morocco in the west, to the Red Sea coast 4800km to the East.

Its landscape varies from a stony flat expanse to perfect wind blown sand dunes, broken only by the occasional oasis. The feeling of space and of solitude is awesome.

With proud Berbers as our guides and a small caravan of camels to carry our supplies we will trek 100km through this varied and stunning landscape.

Iceland is a land of incredible contrast and beauty. Its wild volcanic landscapes, mountains, glaciers, hot springs, geysers and waterfalls, combined with its rich history, literature and folklore make it a fascinating country to explore.

Our challenge takes us from the active Mt Hekla to Landmannalaugar and then south through the mountains to the permanent icecaps of Myrdals and Eyjafjallajokull, where you will be able to see the effects of 2010's volcanic eruption. This is a challenging trek through a remote and potentially hostile environment.
